Recently, General Atomics Corporation (GTC) decided to select General Tool Company (GA) to provide electromagnetic aircraft ejection system (EMALS) and advanced stop device (AAG) for the US "John F. Kennedy" (CVN 79) aircraft carrier.

On January 11, 2016, General Tools announced that it has been valued 4800 by the General Atomics Corporation for the US Navy "John F. Kennedy" aircraft carrier built by Huntington Ingles Industries Newport News Shipbuilding Company. Ten thousand dollars of hardware.
It is reported that the hardware purchased by General Atomics will include key safety projects (CSI) such as motor support structures, slot covers and other related components. The purchase will support General Tools' delivery of the electromagnetic aircraft ejection system and advanced stop devices to all production contracts on the US Navy's second Ford-class aircraft carrier, the "John F. Kennedy" aircraft carrier. The first system was installed on the carrier of the "Gerald R. Ford" (CVN 78) that was in service for actual ship testing and certification.
The General Purpose Tool Corporation's Electromagnetic Aircraft Ejection System, ordered by the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), is the only electromagnetic aircraft ejection system and advanced stop device purchase contract for the "John F. Kennedy" aircraft carrier scheduled for delivery in 2022.
The Electromagnetic Aircraft Ejection System is a launch system that will replace the steam catapults currently in use by all Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. An advanced motor-based stop will decelerate the aircraft during aircraft carrier recycling operations. While providing greater reliability and safety limits, electromagnetic aircraft ejection systems and advanced stop devices will facilitate a wide range of aircraft takeoffs and stops.
