In 2020, China's efficient water-saving irrigation rate will reach more than 30%

[ China Agricultural Machinery Industry News ] According to the plan, by 2020, China will initially establish an agricultural water-saving system, saving water irrigation rate of more than 30%; new water-saving irrigation area of 100 million mu, farmland irrigation water utilization coefficient increased to 0.55 the above.
In 2020, China's water-saving irrigation rate will reach more than 30%
The reporter learned from the 11th National Micro-Irrigation Conference held by Shihezi in Xinjiang that the water-saving irrigation area in China has continued to expand and is helping to push the water-saving agriculture out.
Wu Yuqin, an engineer at the China Irrigation and Drainage Development Center, said that up to now, the scale of farmland using micro-irrigation technology in the country has reached more than 8,000 mu, of which the application scale of Xinjiang has exceeded 50 million mu (including 15 million mu of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps).
According to the plan, during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, the country will promote water-saving irrigation technology, promote water conservation, water conservation, agronomic water conservation, and water conservation. Accelerate the implementation of regional large-scale water-saving irrigation projects such as water saving in the northeast, water saving in the northwest, water saving in North China, and water saving in the south.
After visiting the water-saving demonstration base, Kang Shaozhong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the China Agricultural Water Research Center of China Agricultural University, said that with drip irrigation technology as a platform, Xinjiang has formed water-saving EQUIPMENT production, supporting agricultural machinery equipment, drip irrigation special fertilizer and automation information equipment. Water-saving industrial clusters such as technology have greatly improved the level of water-saving agricultural production.
Statistics show that in Xinjiang's water-saving irrigated area, drip irrigation accounts for 94%, low-pressure pipe irrigation accounts for 5%, and sprinkler irrigation accounts for 1%. Chen Lin, deputy general manager of Xinjiang Tianye Group Co., Ltd. said, “The development of water-saving agriculture in Xinjiang provides a sample for the development of water-saving agriculture along the Silk Road and similar ecological environment in Xinjiang.”
Mordarshaf Adenbeek, an academician of the Kazakhstan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that in recent years, Kazakhstan’s agriculture has developed rapidly, but there are still 500,000 hectares of land that need irrigation. “China's water-saving irrigation technology is very practical for Kazakhstan. We hope to introduce Chinese technology as soon as possible and promote it in China in the future.”
Xinjiang is one of the major agricultural production areas in China, and it is at the forefront of “going out” of water-saving agriculture. Exporting the water-saving agricultural superiority brands formed in China to the countries along the Silk Road will not only promote the further development of China's water-saving agriculture, but also promote China's water-saving agricultural technology products to open more international markets.
