According to Zhu Chengzhi, deputy head of Huadu District, from January to November this year, the region’s auto production was 180,500, and the auto industry’s output value was 31.313 billion yuan, up 22.6% and 18.9% respectively from the same period of last year. It is estimated that the annual automobile output will reach 200,000 this year, and the automobile industry will achieve an output value of 35 billion yuan. Leaders from Huadu District revealed that the factory site of the Guangzhou Hyundai Commercial Vehicle Huadu Plant, which has a 200,000-capacity capacity, was established in cooperation with the Guangzhou Hyundai Group and the Guangzhou Automobile Group. The factory site is scheduled to start construction next year.
Some representatives put forward: "To build a motor city, it is imperative to requisition land for farmers. How can the local farmers' employment be solved?" Wang Zhongbing, head of the district, replied that when the motor city was built, farmers in the nearby villages had 10% of their own plots. At present, many farmers have built standard factory buildings on their own land and leased them to auto parts factories.
