The meeting pointed out that the implementation of the strategy for the development of the western region is a major decision made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council at the turn of the century. The meeting discussed and approved in principle the "Revision Law of the People's Republic of China on Reserve Officer Law (Draft)" and decided that after the draft has been further amended, the State Council and the Central Military Commission shall submit a request to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for deliberation.
