Can two-stroke motorcycles and four-stroke engine oil be mixed?

Motorcycle engine lubricants are referred to as motor oils, and like motors, motor oil also occupies an important position in motorcycles. Motor oil can be divided into two-stroke motorcycle lubricant (referred to as 2T lubricant) and four-stroke motorcycle lubricant (referred to as 4T lubricant), but the two have a huge difference, but can not be mixed!

Two-stroke motorcycles and four-stroke motorcycles are not only structurally different, but also have different lubrication methods. Compared with four-stroke oils, two-stroke oils have a clear distinction in color and solvent smell; the flash point is very low. Easy fuel oil; thinner; lower viscosity; additive does not contain ZDDP, ash is also relatively low; tackifier uses low molecular weight PIB, which is good for smoke elimination. The four-stroke oil is similar to the turbine oil, and the performance characteristics are also opposite to those of the two-stroke.

2T motorcycle is heavy pollution, noise is relatively large, and the use environment is relatively harsh. Therefore, the selection of 2T lubricant should pay attention to: 1. The smoke elimination effect is better; 2. The viscosity grade should be suitable, generally choose SAE 20 and 30 two viscosity. Grade, the higher the displacement, the higher the viscosity; 3. The appropriate quality grade, according to the exhaust volume, from low to high, ERA, ERB and ERC; 4. Appropriate fuel/motor ratio.

4T motorcycles and cars have many similarities: the quality level of the oil is the same as the API standard of the car, and the viscosity is the same as that of the SAE. Therefore, many methods of selecting the oil can refer to the car. However, because the working environment of the motor oil is worse than that of the motor oil, the requirements for the oil are also very high, mainly in the high temperature resistance, friction reducing and slip prevention. In principle, it should be selected according to the guidance of the engine factory.

There are two types of oil replacement: 2T motorcycle is a one-time use, there is no replacement problem, just add it; and 4T motorcycle is similar to a car, about 3,000 to 5,000 kilometers. If you want to change the lubricant, do you need to check if the lubricant level is already low? Has the mileage of the motorcycle reached the recommended oil change interval? Before replacing the lubricating oil, the engine should be started for 3-4 minutes to fully warm up the engine and replace it.

The huge difference between 2T motorcycles and 4T motorcycles has led to the inability of 2T lubricants to be mixed with 4T lubricants. If 2T motorcycle uses 4T lubricating oil, it is prone to black smoke, loud noise, difficult starting, and increased carbon deposit. If 4T motorcycle uses 2T lubricating oil, there is not only flashing due to oil ignition problem. The danger is also easy to cause the wear of the machine to be accelerated due to the low viscosity, which leads to engine damage and the motorcycle is scrapped.

Motor oil is also a huge market. Many mainstream brands are competing for the motor oil market while competing for the motor oil market. Although motorcycles have limited restrictions and limited growth, they still have huge reserves, and mature brands should still join this market.
