The C2.2 unit is equipped with a mechanical governor engine (an electronic governor engine is also optional), a Class H insulation system and an EMCP 3.1 digital controller. The circuit breaker is UL/CSA certified and uses a NEMA 1 isolation steel case. Automatic voltage regulators provide the crew with the ability to quickly recover from transient changes. The generator set is slidingly mounted on a heavy-duty structural steel base equipped with a vibration isolator capable of resisting earthquake magnitude 4 and the base has been raised to facilitate the operation of the forklift. The Class 2 muffler is standard on C2.2 open generators and reduces noise by 10 dB(A). The optional shell also provides features such as sound attenuation, single-point boost, and the control screen's visible window.

Caterpillar Introduces New C2.2 Diesel Generator Set
The main generator is rated at 16 kW (20.5 kVA) and the backup generator is rated at 18 kW (22.5 kVA). This generator set has excellent performance and fuel economy.
