In recent years, vegetable containers have become a new year gift for the Spring Festival, and they have become more and more popular, favoring many units and families. How to ship a container, calculate the cost and profit, and how to reasonably store it? How can vegetable growers break down from the vegetable container market? The newspaper set up a "talk about vegetable containers" column today, which provides comprehensive coverage. stay tuned.

What vegetables are suitable for packing in the vegetable containers? How to pack vegetables in order to ensure the minimum damage during transportation and storage? How long can vegetables in vegetable containers be preserved? ... With these questions, the reporter went to the vegetable container assembly warehouse to find out for you.

Fine cuisine was the protagonist. On the afternoon of the 19th, we saw inside the vegetable container assembly warehouse of the Luoyang Central Plains Yiwu New Year Container Shipping and Distribution Center. A box of vegetables was neatly placed inside the 2000 square meter site.

According to Ren Honggan, the person in charge of the distribution center, according to the usual practice, from the Lunar New Year, the vegetable container assembly and sales will enter the peak period. This year, the distribution center ordered more than 400 tons of vegetables from Shandong, Hainan, Fujian and Sichuan to assemble vegetable containers. About 80 container assembly workers will also be in place on January 21.

Ren Honggan said that the vegetables packed in containers are mostly fine dishes. Cucumbers, colorful peppers, and loofah are shipped from Shandong. Sharp peppers, bell peppers, small tomatoes, and green beans are shipped from Hainan. Celery and broccoli are shipped from Hainan. Green bamboo shoots, white radishes, etc. It was shipped from Sichuan. However, ordinary vegetables such as green onions, lettuce and parsley are not put into containers. On the one hand, they are available on the market at any time. On the other hand, the shelf life of vegetables in containers should be about 10 days. Most leafy vegetables have a shelf life of only 2 to 3 days.

"Clean food" can enter the box. Since the peak period of assembly of vegetable containers has not yet been reached, reporters did not see large-scale packing scenarios at the scene. According to several staff members in the warehouse, the packaging process of the vegetable containers is streamlined.

We have seen that several staff members have worked in a coordinated manner to open boxes of peppers, celery, and green bamboo shoots on the ground, cut off the inedible roots of vegetables, and completely remove rotten leaves and yellow leaves. Subsequently, the staff responsible for the packaging put the “pruned” “clean food” into the fresh-keeping tray, and then wrapped the vegetables on the plastic wrap with a vegetable packaging machine. Finally, the worker responsible for packing packs the packaged vegetables into containers. From vegetable selection to packing, a vegetable container takes only two or three minutes.

There is a particular emphasis on vegetables: “After the containers are packed, they must be transported for a certain distance, and a scientific placement method is required to ensure that the vegetables are not damaged.” The on-site assembler said that they are generally made of zucchini, purple cabbage, and broccoli. The heaviest and pressure-resistant vegetables are placed on the bottom of the container, while garlic sprouts, long bean pods, and baby food are placed on the upper layer.

In addition, each packaged vegetable is served in a plastic storage tray and placed vertically along the inside of the box. In this way, vegetables will not be damaged due to road bumps during transportation, nor will vegetables on the bottom of the upper layer be damaged by the vegetables in the lower layer of the box.
