New downhole control valve raises underbalanced drilling level

In 2005, the scientific and technical personnel of the Drilling Technology Research Institute of Xinjiang Petroleum Administration successively conquered the technical difficulties in the design and processing of the downhole control valve for the 177.8 mm diameter underbalanced drilling, conducted rigorous tests and tests in the room, and carried out several structural optimizations. Make the parameters more scientific and reliable.

The Guangan 8 well three open uses nitrogen underbalanced drilling. The downhole control valve with a diameter of 177.8 mm underbalanced drilling worked for 13 days in the well of Guang'an 8 well, and completed the drilling footage of 547 meters. The work was normal and the field application was a complete success. At present, the well is being trial-produced, and the ignition at the exit of the combustion pipeline is successful.

The successful application of the downhole control valve with a diameter of 177.8 mm underbalanced drilling in the well of Guang'an 8 indicates that the Drilling Technology Research Institute of Xinjiang Petroleum Administration has a full-size series of downhole control valves for underbalanced drilling, and also marks underbalanced drilling. The supporting technology has been improved day by day, which has significantly improved the level of underbalanced drilling equipment in Xinjiang.
